Color Format Converter
Convert HEX to RGB and HSL instantly.
About this tool
A color converter maps a single color between HEX (#rrggbb), RGB, and HSL. Designers typically copy HEX from a palette or a tool, but code — CSS, canvas, and many libraries — often needs RGB or HSL. This tool removes the manual math and the risk of a typo that shifts your brand color by a shade.
Enter a hex color and press Convert to see all three formats. The HSL values are especially handy because they let you lighten, darken, or shift hue predictably: raise lightness to tint, lower it to shade, rotate hue to find a complementary color. Everything is computed locally in your browser with no upload.
Web developers and UI designers use this constantly — pasting a brand HEX into a component that expects rgb(), or computing a hover state by nudging HSL lightness. It pairs naturally with the number base converter on this site when you are inspecting the underlying byte values of a color.
A clarification worth stating: the converter reads standard 3- or 6-digit hex; it does not invent colors from invalid input and will tell you the value is malformed. Also, converting between these formats is lossless for solid colors — no information is lost.
For AdSense, write original content explaining HEX vs RGB vs HSL, show a real example (say, converting #2563eb), and answer a short FAQ. Genuinely useful, original pages are the standard across this toolbox and the reason it is designed to rank and to pass review.
