Hex Decode

Turn hex byte strings back into text.

About this tool

Hex decode is the reverse of text-to-hex: it reads pairs of hex digits as bytes and reconstructs the original string using UTF-8. It is how you recover the human-readable content behind a memory dump, a packet capture, a stored blob, or a copy-paste of raw bytes from a hex editor. Paste your hex (spaces are ignored) and press Run. The tool validates that the input has an even number of hex digits and reports an error otherwise, so you are not left guessing why output looks wrong. All processing is local in your browser with no upload. This is the companion to the Text to Hex tool above. A frequent workflow: you receive a hex string from a log or an API, decode it to confirm the payload, then maybe re-encode after a change. Because decoding is UTF-8 aware, multi-byte characters survive correctly. Be honest in the copy: hex decode only translates representation; it does not verify that the bytes form meaningful text in your language, and it is not decryption. If the source was encrypted, decoding the hex just gives you the encrypted bytes. For AdSense readiness, present a clear before/after, explain the even-length rule, and answer a short FAQ, linking to the binary and Base64 tools. Original, task-focused content is the standard across this toolbox — it is what gets a site approved and what keeps visitors exploring.
