robots.txt Generator

Build a robots.txt file.

About this tool

A robots.txt generator creates the small text file that tells search-engine crawlers which parts of your site they may or may not visit. You enter a user-agent, optional allow and disallow paths, and your sitemap URL, and it outputs a valid robots file. How it works: the tool writes the standard directives in the correct order — User-agent first, then Allow/Disallow, then Sitemap. It runs in your browser, so your site structure stays private until you publish the file at the root of your domain. Who needs it: site owners blocking admin or private folders from indexing, developers staging a site they don't want cached, and SEOs pointing crawlers at a sitemap. It pairs well with the sitemap XML generator. Important: robots.txt is a request, not a firewall. Malicious bots can ignore it, and sensitive content should be protected by authentication, not by disallow rules. Also, a mistake here can accidentally block your whole site from search — double-check the paths. This generator is part of a privacy-first toolbox that favors clear, original, well-structured sites.
